Eat Better, Sleep Better by Marie-Pierre St-Onge
Marie-Pierre St-Onge Co-Authors Eat Better, Sleep Better
The Columbia University Institute of Human Nutrition congratulates Marie-Pierre St-Onge, PhD, on the publication of Eat Better, Sleep Better, co-authored with food editor and recipe developer Kat Craddock.
Published in January 2025, the book combines Dr. St-Onge’s expertise in nutrition and sleep research with Craddock’s culinary experience. It includes 75 recipes and a 28-day meal plan designed to help readers explore the relationship between their eating patterns and sleep health.
Exploring the Connection Between Food and Sleep
Diet and sleep have a complex, bidirectional relationship. Sleep can influence appetite, food choices, and metabolic health, while diet quality and meal timing may also affect sleep duration and quality.
Eat Better, Sleep Better translates research on this relationship into approachable guidance for everyday life. Rather than presenting one ingredient as a cure for poor sleep, the book focuses on overall eating patterns and practical meals that can support a healthy sleep routine.
The recipes draw inspiration from Mediterranean-style eating and incorporate fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, and other nutrient-dense foods. The accompanying meal plan helps readers apply the book’s guidance consistently.
