IHN welcomes Chris Won, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion/Communications Officer

Dear IHN Community,

On behalf of the Institute of Human Nutrition, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Christopher Won (he/them), who has joined the IHN as the inaugural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion/Communications Officer. Chris is the former Program Coordinator for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the Columbia School of Social Work, and has extensive experience in culturally-sustaining, trauma-informed, and identity-affirming pedagogies.  Over the past nine years he has served historically-marginalized communities through his work in instruction, curriculum design, advocacy, and administration.

Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Classics from the College of the Holy Cross, with a minor in Art History and a concentration in Peace and Conflict Studies, as well as a Master’s degree in Teaching in Secondary Education from the Alaska College of Education/University of Alaska Southeast.

Chris will facilitate the alignment of various DEI initiatives with the mission of IHN via strategic planning, community and student support, and program assessment. He can be reached at cw3264@cumc.columbia.edu.

Please join me in heartily welcoming Chris as he joins the faculty and staff of the Institute of Human Nutrition

Best,

Sabrina Diano, PhD
