Profile Headshot

Overview

Dr. Tiffany A. Thomas Ph.D. is an assistant professor in the department of Pathology and Cell Biology. She is the director of the New York Presbyterian Hospital Biochemical Genetics Laboratory. The laboratory performs metabolic profile testing (amino acid, organic acid, and acylcarnitine profiles) for patients with suspected metabolic diseases including inborn errors of metabolism as well as acquired metabolic disorders. The metabolite profiles provide important diagnostic and prognostic information, as well as guidance for the lifelong dietary management of patients with inborn errors of metabolism

In addition to Dr. Thomas' clinical responsibilities, she is also a member of the CUMC Institute of Human Nutrition teaching faculty. She also has a research interest in using stable isotopes to understand impaired flux through metabolic pathways associated with acquired and inherited diseases.
