About Columbia Cornell Obesity Medicine
The Columbia Cornell Obesity Medicine (CCOM) program is a long-standing educational collaboration between the Columbia University Institute of Human Nutrition and Weill Cornell Medicine. As one of the nation’s most established CME offerings in obesity care, CCOM has helped shape the field’s evidence-based, patient-centered approach.
Led by experts across obesity medicine, endocrinology, nutrition, psychology, bariatric surgery, and public health, the program equips clinicians with practical tools for comprehensive obesity management. With an emphasis on translating research into practice, CCOM highlights the biological, behavioral, and societal drivers of obesity, promotes person-first, bias-free communication, and supports compassionate and equitable care.
Today, the Columbia Cornell Obesity Medicine courses remain a trusted resource for clinicians seeking advanced training in obesity treatment and prevention, including those preparing for American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) certification.
