As one of the nation’s most established CME programs in obesity care, CCOM equips clinicians with evidence-based, clinically applicable tools for comprehensive obesity management.

Annual Course Offerings
Spring Core Courses (April/May)
Obesity: Etiology, Prevention, and Treatment
- Focus: Foundational course covering the core principles of obesity medicine
- CME Credit: 30+ AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™
- Schedule: Offered annually each spring (typically May)
- Format:
- In Person (4-day course in New York City)
- Livestream (4-day live virtual course)
- On Demand (self-paced)
- Availability: Produced each spring, the in-person and livestream courses are offered once annually. The on-demand version is available year-round, allowing participants to learn at their own pace, and may be purchased as a standalone course or as part of the Two-Course or Three-Course Package. Course registrations do not roll over to the updated version; a new registration is required to access each newly released course.
Obesity: Additional Topics for Advanced Study
- Focus: Builds on core concepts to advance your clinical knowledge and skills
- CME Credit: 30+ AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™
- Schedule: Offered annually each spring (typically May)
- Format:
- On Demand (self-paced)
- Availability: Available year-round as a standalone course or as part of the Two-Course or Three-Course Package. An updated version of the course is released annually in the spring. Course registrations do not roll over to the updated version; a new registration is required to access each newly released course.
Summer Review Course (June)
Review for the Obesity Medicine Certification Exam
- Focus: A high-yield, clinically focused review designed to help physicians prepare for the obesity medicine certification exam. The course is also beneficial for healthcare professionals seeking a concise, comprehensive overview of the obesity medicine field through a shorter, high-yield educational experience.
- CME Credit: Typically 10–15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (varies annually)
- Schedule: Offered annually in late June
- Format:
- Blended Livestream + On-Demand
- On Demand (self-paced)
- Availability: Produced each summer, the livestream course is offered once annually. The on-demand version is available year-round, allowing participants to learn at their own pace, and may be purchased as a standalone course or as part of the Three-Course Package. Course registrations do not roll over to the updated version; a new registration is required to access each newly released course.
- Discount for Past Participants: We want to help you prepare for the ABOM exam! Past Columbia Cornell Obesity Medicine participants receive 60% off the current course price, whether registering for the Review Course individually or as part of a course package. We encourage participants to complete the Review Course in the same year they plan to sit for the ABOM certification exam to ensure they are reviewing the most current course content.

On-Demand Course Expiration Dates
Please note that on-demand courses are available for a limited time. We encourage learners to complete all coursework and claim CME credit before the expiration dates listed below.
Learners who complete their course and claim CME credit by the stated expiration date will retain access to course materials for 36 months following course expiration.

We are not able to extend access to incomplete courses beyond their expiration dates. Incomplete courses may be upgraded to the latest version for a fee.
