IHN Participates in CUIMC’s Mental Health Awareness Event

The Institute of Human Nutrition (IHN) was proud to take part in Columbia University Irving Medical Center’s Mental Health Awareness Event on October 22, 2025, held in the Riverview Lounge and Ballroom at 50 Haven Avenue.

The event brought together faculty, staff, and students from across CUIMC to promote emotional well-being and community connection through interactive workshops, mindfulness activities, and wellness resources.

At IHN’s booth, Dr. Moneek Madra and Dr. Tirissa Reid shared apple-shaped stress balls, fresh mandarins, and practical mindful eating strategies — sparking meaningful conversations about the powerful link between nutrition and mental health.

Visitors could also explore nature-based experiences, integrative therapies, and other wellness activities designed to foster resilience and whole-person health.

You can read more about the event’s activities and participants on the Columbia University event page.

IHN looks forward to participating again next year as part of CUIMC’s continued commitment to advancing mental and nutritional well-being across our community.
